Job Summary

We are a leading Technology Company located at Ikeja, Lagos. We are looking for proven talents to join our work force. The Legal Officer provides comprehensive legal support and advice to the organization by managing contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, handling disputes, and drafting legal documents such as agreements. This role serves as a key advisor to internal stakeholders, helping to mitigate legal risks and ensure that all business operations are conducted in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Job Details

  • Assist the legal department in drafting agreements, 
  • Providing legal assistance in relation to the company’s evolving technology solutions and digital service offerings.
  • Reviewing, drafting and negotiating IT and IT-related agreements, including services level agreements, technology, procurement, implementation, licensing, managed services and outsourcing agreements.
  • Advising on the structuring of and responses to tenders for the provision of technology services and other related matters.
  • Working closely with client engagement teams, as well as our IT team.
  • Policy drafting, proffering advise on data privacy (and ensuring data compliance) in line with provisions of the NDPR.
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Assists with ensuring that the institution meets its legal responsibilities under the Nigerian Laws and Regulations
  • Manages the relationship with external legal firms and practitioners, as required
  •  Ensures transfer of files to external lawyers, in coordination with the MD, and monitor performance
  • Reviews and proposes updates to the company's documents as needed
  • Provides assistance to the business in ensuring compliance with all various legal requirements
  • Ensures proper legal consultations are provided to departments / units
  • Ensures the proper filing of the department files.
  • Ensures the registration of agreements before submitting to ministries, governmental departments and administrations.
  • Conducts meetings with clients and concerned parties to discuss related legal matters
  • Conducts review of texts of standard contracts, agreements, legal correspondence and forms as well as analysis of formal complaints against the company and advice on measures of action
  • Understands and owns compliance responsibility as distinctive from operational/revenue generating responsibilities.
  • Risk Owner: as a member of a department, you assist in owning some risks that are allocated to them.
  • As a team member, you are to report any hazards, risk, weaknesses or incidents relevant to any part of the organization.
  • Ensuring that all devices connected to the Company's network comply with the Minimum-Security Standard for Networked Devices.
  • Any other related tasks assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of post-call legal experience preferably in corporate, or Tech/FinTech Organization.
  • Relevant certifications as an added advantage.
  • Work Type: Hybrid (4 days onsite & 1 day remote)
